Adoption fees vary depending on the animal's age and species. Every adoption fee helps offset the cost of veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, food, and daily care while the animal is at the shelter. Depending on the animal, your adoption fee may include a health examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery (or arrangements if too young), a microchip, flea and parasite treatment if required, behavioural assessment and support, and ongoing advice from our adoption team.

Every adoption is unique. Some adoptions can be completed the same day, while others may take longer if additional meetings, veterinary care, or family or animal introductions are needed. Our goal is to ensure every adoption is a successful, lifelong match.

Yes. If you rent, we may ask for confirmation that pets are permitted in your home before finalizing the adoption.

Yes! In many cases, we encourage introductions between your current pet and your potential new companion. Our staff will let you know if a meet-and-greet is recommended based on the individual animal.

Because our goal is to find permanent homes as quickly as possible, we generally do not place animals on hold. If special circumstances arise, please speak with our adoption team.

Yes. Some animals do well together and may even be bonded pairs that should remain together. If you're considering adopting more than one pet, we'll discuss what will work best for both you and the animals.

Whenever possible, yes. If an animal is too young for surgery at the time of adoption, arrangements and information will be provided regarding their future spay or neuter procedure.

Yes. Animals receive age-appropriate vaccinations while in our care, along with veterinary assessments and treatment as needed.

We share as much information as we know about each animal's background, personality, medical history, and behaviour. In some cases, very little is known about an animal's previous life, but our staff spend time getting to know every animal so we can help make the best possible match.

Please bring government-issued photo identification, payment for the adoption fee, a secure carrier for cats and small animals, and a leash and collar if appropriate for dogs.
